About
Zodiac Signs
Zodiac Signs is a reference site for Western tropical astrology: what each sign, element and house traditionally means, how they combine, and a calculator that works out your own chart. The aim throughout is the same — state what the tradition actually says, plainly, and be clear about where a heuristic ends and a guess would begin.
What’s here
- Sun SignsAll twelve signs — dates, elements, modalities, ruling planets, and traits.
- ElementsFire, earth, air and water, and the temperament each groups three signs into.
- HousesThe twelve life areas a chart divides the sky into, from identity to career.
- CompatibilityHow all twelve signs pair by element and modality, in one grid.
- Birth ChartA free natal chart calculator — planets, houses, and rising sign, computed on your own device.
How the birth chart works
The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your birth date, time and place are never sent anywhere, and nothing is stored — reload the page and it starts over. The underlying positions are checked against Swiss Ephemeris and, for a subset of cases, an independently re-derived JPL ephemeris source, so a mistake in one calculation path would not simply repeat itself undetected in the other.
Entertainment, not a substitute for advice
Astrology is offered here for entertainment and self-reflection, not as medical, financial or legal advice. Where a claim on this site is a traditional heuristic rather than a settled fact — element compatibility is the clearest example — the page says so rather than presenting it as a verdict.
Also on mobile
A companion app is in development, built on the same calculation core as the website so a chart matches whichever one you open. It doesn’t exist yet and there’s no date to promise — the birth chart page has a one-tap way to register interest if you’d use it.
